AusRegistry’s highly scalable, robust and proven EPP-based Registry has been developed and continually improved upon for over a decade and sets the industry benchmark for performance and reliability.
Some of our technical achievements include, pioneering the way zone files are updated, by being the first registry system in the world to allow real time Domain Name registration and delegation services through the Extensible Provisioning Protocol (EPP). AusRegistry is also responsible for enhancing security within the .au Registry through techniques such as WHOIS blacklisting, intrusion detection and firewalling.
By doing so, AusRegistry pioneered the way by providing dynamically updated zone files that allow "real time" Domain Name registration and delegation services, that is to say Domain Names that are ready to be used within seconds of being registered and re-delegations that are immediately effective. AusRegistry was one of the first Registries in the world to implement the new RFC-compliant EPP system, v1.0, which has since become the global technical standard for Registry Systems.
AusRegistry has enhanced the security of the .au Registry database, through techniques such as WHOIS blacklisting, intrusion detection and firewalling. It is now harder than ever to obtain the database of Registrant details.
Our Registry System has been designed to be infinitely scalable. Oracle 10g powers the Registry database, which means customers have access to industry leading performance and reliability.
Load-balanced application servers, combined with fully redundant networking technologies, provide for the highest quality reliable platform on which world-class Registry software has been developed to give service levels previously unavailable in Australia.
AusRegistry is also one of the first Registry Service providers to successfully implement an Internationalised Domain Name (IDN) Registry System using the IDNA 2008 Protocol.
