As the .au namespace prepares to celebrate its milestone 30th year in operation, AusRegistry has welcomed Cayman Islands-based Registrar Uniregistry as the latest addition to the .au channel.
Lead by domain name icon Frank Schilling, Uniregistry received its auDA accreditation in December 2015 and was onboarded by AusRegistry in early 2016.
Receiving accreditation from auDA allows Uniregistry to add .au domain names to the list of extensions it offers Registrants, along with its domain name transfer and security services.
AusRegistry explained that Uniregistry’s proven reputation in the industry fits well with .au’s trusted and secure image. Uniregistry.com is one of the 20 largest Registrars worldwide according to RegistrarStats.com, with nearly 1.5 million domain names registered. The Registrar has doubled in size in less than a year.
Frank Schilling of Uniregistry.com.au said the company was incredibly pleased to add .au domain name services to its product suite and to begin serving an Australian audience with its national domain name extension.
“The natural beauty in Australia is in the hearts of its people and we are incredibly proud to reflect that beauty in the elegant, simple and technically advanced portal where we bring Australia’s namespace to life. Our interest in serving Australia is born of the optimism, passion and can-do spirit that we share with our commonwealth brothers and sisters, down-under.”
Uniregistry.com.au has also been officially certified as being compliant with the auDA Information Security Standard, (ISS) an initiative introduced in 2013 designed to manage and improve the security of a Registrar’s infrastructure and systems. ISS is another measure working to ensure the integrity and safety of the .au namespace and Uniregistry’s compliance with this demonstrates a commitment to the ongoing success of .au.
AusRegistry congratulates Uniregistry.com.au on joining the .au community and looks forward to continued mutual growth and success.
